Frankfurt – where to Eat, Drink & Shop:
Shopping
Like any other city in Europe, Frankfurt has its fair share of shopping outlets. So for some retail therapy make your way to Zeil, north of the River. This popular shopping street is thronged with bag-laden shoppers. Here you'll find all the big German chains like Peek & Cloppenberg and Deichmann and it also has other popular shopping outlets like H&M, Zara and New Yorker.
For shoppers with a more expensive taste, make your way to Goethestrasse (Gothe Street), which is lined with expensive boutiques and designer shops.
And if you haven’t had enough shopping, go on the metro U1 (direction of Ginnheim) and get off at Nordwestzentrum stop. Close to this station you'll find one of the biggest shopping centres in Germany!
Eating out
After a long day on your feet, there is nothing more delightful than enjoying a Haspeln or Schäufelchen (traditional pork dishes), washed down with a cider - the drink of choice in this city! You'll find some really good restaurants on Grosse Bockenheimer Strasse, a street lined with a selection of restaurants. Of course, this multicultural city also has a good deal of Indian, Thai, Chinese and other exotic restaurants.
Nightlife
When it comes to nightlife, this city definitely has it covered! It has lots of beer gardens, pubs, trendy bars and nightclubs that stay open into the small hours of the morning. The best places to find these are on Grosse Bockenheimer Strasse, Zeil and Römerberg.
